Best Bulgarian university!!

Varna University of Management is the only university that I could get western-style education in English language. That is why I selected it and I do not regret.

My experience with Varna University of Management has been a pleasant one. I have taken classes so far that have peaked my interest and have allowed me to make better business decisions. I have also made a lot of friends and met with great staff who love what they teach.
Living in Varna has been an adventure. The way of life, the food, the people are so much different than where I come from but everyone is so welcoming.

I had the honor of spending a semester at VUM, Bulgaria. It has been an unforgettable experience and one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
Everybody has been helpful and kind, so I made many friends. We shared meals, parties, and trips. I felt comfortable all the time and therefore I didn’t miss my home. I met unforgettable people I will miss so much! I hope to cross paths with them again, but just in case I am trying to appreciate each moment together.

VUM was a perfect choice for me as it gave me the opportunity to study abroad with other international students where the lectures were taught in English by industry professionals and academics.
Likewise, the price of the course and living expenses in Bulgaria is a fraction of the cost for studies in the US; where I come from.

I did my MBA at Varna University of Management and I now work as Sales Director for a real estate company.
The main reason to choose VUM was that I wanted to avoid the ‘standard’ type of education, to step out of my comfort zone and to build up my knowledge. The time I spent at VUM, I can definitely decsribe as extremely complete and fruitful. Based on that education I have developed the idea of how I would like to position myself on the labor market in the future. The position of Sales Director, that I currently occupy at Home2U Bulgaria implies a wide range of skills, a big part of which I had acquired namely at VUM.
I recommend VUM to all those who wish to combine the constructive competitive environment and the friendly atmosphere, and who wish to lay the foundations of their desired career development.

I am studying Hospitality and Culinary Arts at Varna University of Management currently. I am here because at one point I want to open a restaurant in Bahamas or somewhere else around the world and this school provides me everything I need for that!

I am currently a 3rd year student of Software Engineering. I have more than 10 years of experience working as a software developer. I like the program very much, it is up-to-date, it is practical, it helps me to develop my skills further. I also have the opportunity to interact with many professional from the industry.

At that time I liked mostly that VUM was different from the other Bulgarian universities in particular that it offered to me a high-quality, internationally-recognized and practically-oriented degree program of a UK University. I was also enjoying the interaction with many of my colleagues and our lecturers with whom the students had the chance to have a personal contact which is often not the case in other Universities. The fact that I was studying entirely in English a program of a British University closely related to the work position for which I was applying was appreciated by my first employer.
Without any hesitation I can say that VUM is a very good choice of a University. It provides with knowledge and skills that few other Institutions for Higher Education in the region could offer and in this differentiates its graduates from the other young people who are entering the job market.

If student wants to spend minimum amount of money, it is possible to live for 400 BGN (~200 EUR) per month. This amount includes cheap accommodation (140 BGN), utilities (20-40 BGN) and everything rest.
In terms of prices, Bulgaria is quite attractive for me as for a student. In comparison with Finland and other highly developed countries, prices are halved.
It is possible to get a good meal for 5 BGN. In IUC Restaurant Albena (Dobrich) or in similar cafes and restaurants across Bulgaria.

The english level of the teachers is really good and they help you as much as they can… You can get by with Around 200-300 euros per month.
VUM strives to provide us with all the materials needed in all possible ways. We have access to library in campus and to a digital libraries of partners. All the materials used during the lectures are sent to students so you can use them in your preparations for the exams and just to revise material when you need it.

I would definitely recommend this university to those, who strive to get international experience and real world experience, since VUM provides us with real job placements as internships during whole study. Thanks to these internships student can find professional contacts and their future employer. In addition, there are lots of exchange partners.
What I like about VUM is it’s flexibility and low power distance. Anyone can reach rector when problems occur. There is always a solution for any kind of problem. Administration helps students even with tuition fees by giving scholarships and special funding for certain cases.
But I would choose only certain person to invite to my study program. It is still forming and supposes strong interest in the area. Otherwise, person could get into a situation when they are not able to keep up with the level of the rest in a group.
I would not recommend this place to those, who are afraid of change and of constant development, flexibility. -
Employee
I have worked for Varna University of Management full-time for more than 3 years. I liked the international environment, usually between 30 and 50 nationalities are around, great team, skilled and intelligent, very good management. It is a great place to learn a lot of new, useful things.
